The gestation period is over! Now… Responsibility kicks in.

Last Sunday was our launch. It was cool to see the place full of new faces. I had described that mine and Beth’s feeling was that we were giving birth to a child, actually, to our third child. First because we moved here in Jan. There were nine months for nesting, seeing the obstetrician, analyzing the ultra-sounds and even coming up with a name. Secondly because we have already given birth to two other churches and we also happen to have two little daughters. So… it’s not like we haven’t gone through the drills and are supper nervous about the whole thing. Nevertheless, its still quite emotional when you get to see the baby for the very first time. In a few minutes span, surrounded by all the euphoria, your mind still wonders as you envision the child’s first friends, the first day of school, their succesful career, their spouse and then your grandkids playing around (shoot! fast-forwarded too much). Then, after your back to your senses, the weight of the responsibility to raise the child kicks in leaving you in a state of premature stress. That’s probably where I’m at right now.
